Mission: The Forgotten Outpost
Location: Main SCIS Office
Timeline: 1600

On

Back in her office on DS3, things were now about finished being cleaned up, the office had been freshly painted, a new rug had been installed with the SCIS logo embroidered into the middle of the rug, and there in the middle of the padded rug were numerous large and small boxes each containing office furniture, but this wasn’t your typical Starfleet Office furniture, for they were carbon copies/replicated Russain furniture at the time of the Tsars, reflecting the female side of Svetlana.

With the last two Special Agents offices now freshly painted, and the long awaited mobile computer module pickups waiting to be tied into their own monitors. The SCIS office was now ready for business, with two more agents being sent over from Headquarters, there was still one job that was just as important as having a Special Agent, and that was an office manager who Svetlana had sent in for a request for.

Sitting in her own large office with clothes and jackets, along with the new uniforms approved by SCIS headquarters for use by all agents. However on all assignments off the station, the agents were free to wear civilian clothes, so as to mix in with the other civilians living there.

Reading the memo from Admiral Gibbs, he wanted all Special Agents to be in an official SCIS duty uniform, something that no one had ever seen worn since they were phased out in 2290. but now with a lot of problems from within the quadrant, it was apparent that the Admiral wanted his Special Agents to look like Starfleet, but not, and so though they wore a uniform, they would wear their badges which had been retrofitted with the same communication system as found in the comm badges each Starfleet Officer and enlisted wore each day, and the uniform he had chosen was the style used in Starfleet in 2880-2890, it was the black maroon uniform, Devoid of any rank it was a custom fitted black uniform jacket with blood red piping, blue/white interrupted piping,

The only rank were the old and ancient military rank. All SSAIC's would each wear the rank of a full colonel (Eagle); SSA;s would wear Lieutenant Colonel rank (silver oak leaves); Special Agent wore major rank (Bronze/gold oak leaves), and Ancillary personnel such as the Forensic Pathologists, Crime Scene Investigators, and other would all wear Captain bars (two silver bars) on the front strap of their uniform tunic.

Though the initial uniform was an all black uniform, Admiral Gibbs decided that the color of Brown for the tunic would look better, and a pair of lighter color weight material for pants/skirts would be correct. In fact Admiral Gibbs had just finished reading the specifications for the old US Army uniform of the 1940s' and found that he like the color combinations, so in his first report he had wanted an all black uniform, but decided that the old US Army's Pinks and Greens was adequate for what he wanted.

About to remove her outer clothing, the buzzer from the locked main entrance to SCIS, and turning on the view screen, Svetlana saw an older woman, who was wearing civilian clothing, around 70 years of age, and she spoke “perfect Russian:.

Speaking in Russian the woman told Svetlana that she had heard about the job from her friends in the Civilian Personnal Office on the Station, and knew that SCIS was in need of a good Office Manager, and one who didn’t take any lip from anyone, and with her record of being the office Managers to some of the most feared, and influential Flag Officers, she had learned long ago how to lower the boom with results.

Seeing the woman and knowing that the office managers position was something that was just as important, Svetlana invited the woman in, and as Svetlana unlocked the doors, the woman walked to the empty office desk which was now full of folders, IsoLinear Chips, and a few hundred documents related to running the new Section. Now sitting down Svetlana watched the woman taking note on the things on her desk, and finally both of them were now in a deep conversation on the job that Svetlana needed to have done.

Finally the older woman spoke for another 10-20 minutes then when she finished she sat back and watched.
A lot of things were going on, and with the arrival of two more Special Agents, and the number of unscreened calls, messages, and other things that are needed to run an office, Svetlana decided that she did need an Office Manager as soon as possible.

Finally Svetlana got up, and said as she simply walked passed the front desk "Katrina be here tomorrow morning at 0800 hrs, and be prepared to work, replied Svetlana, as far as a uniform is concerned, the current Federation Jump Suit will be fine for now, as she walked out of the front office and down the hallway to her office, then she shut the door.
