Mission: New Worlds
Location: Mess Hall
Timeline: (day two - evening)

On:

-Mess Hall-

Jason made his way too the mess hall, he was supposed too have dinner with Genevieve but she had to cancel because her department was helping stellar cartography update the mapping for the region, so instead of sitting alone in his quarters he stepped out such as it was on a starship. Jason was hoping there was something in the kitchen instead of replicator choices. Jason saw the kitchen open he, unfortunately there wasn't any short order offerings, so he chose a few random offering, some kind of mixed vegetables, what was supposed to be a hot meat sandwich and French fries. He grabbed a mug full of some kind of juice and found an empty table. Oddly enough, there weren't many occupied tables so he picked one near the large view port. As he set his tray down and looked at the offerings, ~I should have just replicated something in my quarters.~ he thought.

Steven had contacted Khmac again. Luckily his friend was in a good mood. His sisters Jackal Targ had bitten her and drawn blood. Unfortunately the Klingon could not give him the information they were seeking. He advised him to speak with his father. Who at that moment was travelling to Bajor. Edgeware knew his friend did not like travelling in the family warbird. So it would be prudent to wait until he arrived at Bajor. Realising he was quite peckish Steven made his way to the mess.

After order a light Avocado salad with a chilled glass of Bajoran Melon juice. He looked for a place to sit.

“ Hello Jason. May I join you?” He asked

Looking up "Oh yeah, come on over." Jason said putting down the sandwich, "You off duty or quiet night in sick bay?"

Sitting down.” Off duty in three…two….one. Now. Yes off duty thought I would get something to eat. Before my third attempt to speak with Kimpok. Waiting until he has reached Bajor. How about you?” Steven asked

"Off the clock for now, I was going to spend the evening with Genevieve from astrometrics, but they are helping stellar cartography update some of the charts for the area so she's doing a double shift." taking a drink of the juice which Jason was a melon flavor, "I was going too the gym later on."

Taking a sip Of his own drink Steven nodded.

“ I have not yet visited the Oberon's gym. Although it has sent me plenty of customers. One of the treadmills has a nasty habit of breaking peoples ankles. I have been using the holodeck to go jogging instead. I have this perfect running program.”

Jason smirked "That treadmill is more of a death trap, I usually avoid that thing." taking a bite from the sandwich "I really haven't made any plans the file dump from outpost 55 still hasn't come in and I'm chasing down a lead that aren't complete dead ends."

Steven nodded while lifting some food to his mouth.

“ To be honest I don’t expect much joy from Kimpok. It looks like the Klingon high council have made this a loyal eyes and ears only. Which means even if he wanted to tell me. He’s honour bound not to.” Steven warned

Jason paused giving a crooked smirk "Admiral Conway contacted me earlier, I had to lock my office door too keep Karadis out." pausing too see if he had Steven's attention "by the time I was done she was quite furious with me, I've actually reached the point where I'm going to speak with the captain about her actions, including that outburst in the office the other day."

Steven hung his head.

“ This is all my fault. I should not of behaved the way I did. The last time we talked with her. It was disrespectful to Karadis. Klingons are a very proud and honourable people. I should of been more respectful. No wonder she lost her temper with us.” Steven said

"I wouldn't worry too much." Jason took another pull off the juice "She may have the Captains' ear but I am head of the department."

“ Yes. But then again. As department heads we must always be aware that our actions can have far darker consequences then we would wish. Sometimes I feel if we had not messed with that freighter back on DS3. Maybe just maybe we would of been around to stop the station vanishing. Instead of galavanting off on a wild goose chase on the Pathfinder.” Steven said

Jason paused becoming confused "Freighter?"

“ We found a derelict freighter with three cryogenic chambers on board still working. Turned out the people inside were infested with Borg nanites. At the time we did not know that of course. Not until the things woke up and ran amok before escaping. That’s why most of the originals like me. Did not disappear with DS3. We went off in the Pathfinder to stop them.” Steven explained

Jason became more confused "The last three hours on DS3 are a complete blank for me." Jason switched to recounting what he could remember "I was on my way too a runabout because the Captain had ordered me to meet up with a Romulan I had befriended over the last few years, the next thing I know it's forty five hours later and I'm a bloody mess inside of a shuttle pod that had blast damage, I've been told I had a level 3 concussion and that memory loss would be a side effect."

“ That’s odd. As your doctor I should of been told. But they said nothing to me. You know this all begging to feel odd. That maybe Starfleet is hiding something. Perhaps after this mission we should look closely into those 45 hours. They may hold a clue.” Steven said

"I pulled the sensor logs from the pod, intermittent gaps from an EMP, the medical says 'Classic concussion symptoms'." shuffling the contents of his plate "if you have any ideas feel free."

Steven twirled his drink around in thought.

“ What happened to DS3? The more we start looking into this the more it just gets odder and odder. An EMP shouldn’t of caused concussion like that. Those pods are slower then a wet day in Dublin. I think for now we keep with the mission at hand. Mr Finchley is counting on us.” Steven said

"Yeah...I'm supposed to be off on some away mission early tomorrow, still haven't gotten the briefing package though." Jason sad as he finished his meal.

“ Yes. I am staying on the Oberon. We need to find a way to get Tor to talk. It’s not going to be easy. The guy is organic machine. Might have to do some shenanigans as they say.” Steven said tapping the side of his nose.

Laughing "Yeah."

Steven took another sip.

“ But let’s keep that all on the quiet. With any luck we may not use it.” He said

"No problem there, going down too a desert region sounds like fun now." Jason said has he finished his meal.

Steven drained the last of his drink.

“ Well. Got to go. I need to sort a few things out. Take care my friend.” Steven said

"Have a good one." Jason said as he picked up his tray.
