| Personal History | Early years:- Kimpok birth was very traumatic. It was clear from the start. There would be complications during the birth. But dispute their midwifes warnings Tifnol demanded the birth would be. At the family ceremonial birthing chamber in the family house on Q'onoS. She was in labour for 12hours. When he finally did arrive Kimpok could not breathe properly and nearly died twice. As with nearly all Klingon children. Kimpok matured quickly. In all things he was a perfect Klingon child. Except for his height. Due to a birth defect Kimpok grew a lot slower in height then other Klingons. This made him the runt of the litter. However his family were over protective of him. He was never allowed on the hunt. Due to his height , instead. He would assist his grandmother who would fill his young mind. With tales of his late Grandfather who fought. In the Klingon/Fedaration Cold War. Something he would later learn was a lie. When a brother was injured. Kimpok decided to show everyone just because. He was not as tall as the others. He was still a warrior like them. Sneaking out he would kill the beast and drag its carcass back. To this day Kimpok swears he met a strange boy. In the forest who helped him hunt the creature down. But when Kimpok returned and told his tale. He discovered that many years before his birth. Kimpok had a fourth brother who was killed on his first hunt. After being shown a picture of him. Kimpok told everyone it was the boy he had come across. No one believed him. Kimpok’s parents were very strict in how they wished. Their young son to be educated. They knew because of his height he be restricted. But Kimpok was determined to show them. This was not the case. He threatened them that if they stopped him. Taking the childhood Klingon rituals. He would like the hunt attempt them on his own. They had no choice but to allow him. Any boy who made fun of his height ended up with a split lip. No matter what their size. So it was a common sight to see young Kimpok. Sitting on some bullies chest. Punching them and swearing. Until an adult came along and pulled him off. This meant he had little to no friends as a boy. But this did not bother him. School and Teen years:- Due to his fathers high standing in Klingon society. Kimpok had the best education on Q'onoS. But the young man realised that his education was lacking any combat training. He wanted to serve in the fleet. When he was old enough. But his parents had other ideas for him. So in secret he learned about combat. However his father found out. To say the family row that followed was monumental is an understatement. His father tried to punch it into his son’s skull ( literally ) that Kimpok was to short to be an officer in the fleet. He pointed out that there were other paths. Kimpok could go but he would not listen. From then onwards he never really spoke , with his father again. Realising he would never be aloud his own path. Kimpok decided to run away from home and seek his own path. He managed to stowaway on a freighter. But was discovered by the crew. He fought them off and realising they would have to kill him. To be rid of this stowaway. The Captain told him he could stay but only as one of her crew. Kimpok spent the rest of his teenage years on that vessel. The crew took him under their wing.Learning all the things his family had prevented him from learning , Including Combat training which he excelled at. He visited many planets except any Klingon colony’s. Learning a great many things about life and the universe. It was one day when they had landed on a planet. To trade some supplies when Kimpok noticed a group of people. In uniforms he had not seen before. When he asked who they were. He was told they were Starfleet. Kimpok had never heard of Starfleet before. Yes he had heard about the Federation but he did not know. They had their own fleet. Obviously his parents had withheld that from him. In case he ran away and tried to join them. But the Captain told him it would not be his height that stopped him. But his race. The Klingon Empire and The Federation. Were not exactly best buds at the moment. Although the ships cook did point out. There was one Klingon in Starfleet to his knowledge. So Kimpok decided to try. Starfleet Academy Years:- The Captain told Kimpok to tell the truth. Otherwise a lie could come back and bite him. At first the recruitment officer was not sure. Whether Kimpok just wanted to join Starfleet. Because he could not serve in the Klingon fleet or to show his parents. He was not the runt of the litter. It took Kimpok a while to convince him. But he finally got his chance. The Klingon did well in his first year. But Starfleet Security has many eyes. The fact that the son of a prominent Klingon house. Was at the academy made their hackles raise. One day Kimpok woke up to find himself surrounded by phasers. All pointed at his head. Starfleet security wanted a word. So they led him away. It was during the journey that Kimpok. Proved he was not someone who would turn on his. Fellow Starfleeters just because they were about to , attack a Klingon ship. The transport was attacked. By a criminal gang who were after another prisoner. Also being transported. Only two officers survived the attack. When the ship crashed. Instead of running away. Kimpok stopped the outlaws killing the two. Then helped them recapture the other prisoner. After that Starfleet had no doubt over his motives. Three years later he graduated Starfleet. But only just. Now he is awaiting his first posting. |
