Meeting the Commander

Tobias has received word that a new Security Chief had arrived and was on their way to his office. He moved over to the replicator and grabbed a cup of tea, then sat at his desk and waited for the new crew member to arrive.

Waking the next morning after arrival at Deep Station 3 Trensu started his day. he checked his uniform one more time in the mirror making sure everything was perfect. The quarters giving to him was well furnished and spaces. He knew from when he arrived something seemed off to him. being on the command housing deck was one thing. Most lieutenants are in the lower officers' housing deck. Maybe on a ship due to space but a station unlikely. Most everyone he saw the night before was commander or higher in rank and two people had called him Chief. There was no way he could be in charge of a department Trensu thought.

Taking a deep breath, he walked out of his room he walked to the turbolift he only pasted two maintenance workers he just gave them a nod as he walked by. Checking the Padd he was carrying his orders it gave no real indication other than security officer assignment Deep Space 3. He entered the turbolift turning around and watched the doors close “Command deck” he ordered the turbolift.

As the Turbolift moved Trensu wondered how this assignment was going to go. it had been a lifetime since that last time he had served in uniform. He had been studying for hundreds of years so why was he so nervous. Star fleet like him and what he thought they even ask him to stay and teach at the academy right after graduation. Most called him professor which bothered him at times. He knew he was one at one time but not now. He knew that is not what he wanted he would learn best out in the field and more about the people there.

The turbolift stopped. The doors opened Trensu walked out confidently and down the commander’s corridor. He saw the yeomen’s desk and walked up “Lieutenant Trensu reporting and here to see the commander” He said respectfully handing the Padd to the yeomen. She took it looking it over taping it a few times. “yes Lieutenant, He is waiting on you.” she said with a smile.

Thinking Trensu asked “could you tell me what position I will be placed in?” she looked up at him. “I am not at liberty to say that is for the CO to brief you on. His door is their Lieutenant” She replied. Giving a nod “thankyou yeomen” said Trensu as he walked away. walking up to the door he gave his uniform shirt a firm tug. Then touched the door panel the chime could be heard. “Enter” the voice could be heard.

Walking on closing the door behind him Trensu walked straight to the Commander's desk. He stopped exactly one meter from it snapping to attention “Lieutenant Ahkhsu Trensu reporting in Sir!” he said loud and confidently.

"Ah, yes, Lieutenant Trensu. I have been expecting you. Would you care to take a seat?" the Commander answered.

"Yes sir," replied Trensu. Taking the closest seat to him out of the two, Trensu sat straight up and rigid. He waited for what the CO had to say. He could only hope that he would make a good impression on the CO.

"My records indicate that you are to be our new Chief of Security. How do you plan to keep the station running smoothly and peacefully?"

Surprised at the CO comment and not wanting to question him. "I am a Security Officer, What position you put me in is entirely up to you Sir," Trensu replied almost in a questioning tone. Thinking the CO does not know where he wants his officers or is he testing Trensu he was not sure.

"You are being assigned as department head. I need for you to answer my question." Tobias added, a little sternly.

"Yes Sir, By providing leadership and ensuring the safety and well-being of the crew and passengers of this station. Implementing programs and following Star Fleet's rule of law and regulations.

In this role, the responsibility for coordinating all the internal and external security and safety for this station. This includes managing and leading security teams to provide a constant presence throughout this station while minimizing visibility and any minor inconveniences to the crew.

The overseeing of this station’s offensive and defensive capabilities. The Security teams will be directed from the Security station via keyed instructions or in a meeting by me. Also, special transporting of dignitaries and ambassadorial staff shall be conducted by me.

I will do armory inventories, security team personnel assignments, and detailed counter-intelligence measures to prevent sabotage or terrorism aboard this station. I will implement SRT teams to raise our security proficiency to a higher level and performance.

This is what I will start with. You will have regular reports on my progress, Sir." replied Trensu.

The Commander nodded his head and said, "It sounds like you have a very solid plan in place, Lieutenant. I look forward to reading your reports. Unless you have anything you need from me, I will not keep you any longer."

He thought for a second "No, thank you for your time sir." replied Ternsu.
being dismissed Ternsu walked out and went straight to the Security Operation.
