-Science Lab-

Penny’s Chihuahua the Wee One was bored. His mistress had ignored him for ages. He wanted his scratch behind the ear and he wanted it now!

McTaggart had no reason to stay in the science lab. Until Edgeware returned she should really head out.

Perhaps she could do some reading?

CRASH!!

Penny jumped at the sound of an electronic microscope falling on the floor. Turning in horror she saw that the Wee One had pulled the wire. Connecting it to a power outlet.

“ Ya wee scallywag be off with yee.” She said looking at the very broken piece of equipment.

Suppose Lieutenant Edgeware returned and learned of how the Microscope got broken. He would have the Wee One blown out of an airlock. She had to go and see Lieutenant Creed quickly.

It had been a long day on her first shift as Oberon’s CEO after the previous chief had left them high and dry and left Lisa with a mountain of paperwork and an unscheduled refit, all Lisa wanted to do was now relax and unwind with a glass of brandy, however, she knew that it would not be long before trouble reared its head.

Rushing along Penny carried the damaged microscope. She was not 100% sure where Engineering was. She was too much in a state to ask for the computer. So in true Penny McTaggart fashion, she rushed along. Luck seemed to favor her as she saw Lieutenant Creed.

“ Oh, Lieutenant Creed just the person I need to see. Can you do me a wee favor?” Penny asked

Lisa looked back at the Ensign and replied," What is it, Ensign? as I am about to head back to my quarters," as she was tied and needed some sleep, Lisa knew that the young officer was worried about it so it must be urgent.

Penny looked around then she spoke.

“ We had a wee accident. This electronic microscope got broken. My doggie broke it by accident. Please help me….?” Penny asked

"May I ask what your dog was doing in the Lab?" asked Lisa who now stood with her hands on her hips, she was now extremely tired and needed sleep to recharge.

“ Well yer see. The Wee One gets so sad when he is locked up in his carry kennel. So with most of the crew on shore leave. I let him out to stretch his wee legs. But he gets so bored and I was busy. Getting the wee science lab ready for Mr. Edgware's return. He was just trying to get my attention. The Wee One did not mean to break the telescope. He must have thought that by pulling the wire. I would take notice of him. Please. I know you are busy. But please help me. Mr. Edgeware will have my doggie's testicles for earrings.” Penny begged

" I see," replied Lisa looking back at the Ensign, who was now getting desperate. Lisa continued "Very well, leave it in my office and I will see if I can fix it for you," keeping her gaze upon the young officer, she finished " I will overlook your dog's transgression this time, but no more,"

Penny wanted to hug Creed. But was worried it would not go down well.

“ Thank you. I promise it won’t happen again. I know you guys are busy with everyone away. But thank you thank you..” She wanted to ask how long it would take. But common sense told her to be silent.

"See to it that it doesn't Ensign or that Dog will be put on the station," replied Lisa looking back at the young Ensign, finished" I need to sleep," as she turned to walk away and head to her quarters.

Penny nodded and walked away.
