The Vulcan nervously walked up to the doors of the station's commanding officer. This was his first posting aboard a space station, and he didn't know what to expect. "Don't screw this thing up again, Tex. Keep it together..." He sighed and entered the office of the commanding officer.

"Lieutenant Anderson, reporting as ordered." He gave a Vulcan hand sign, one that could be loosely associated with his species. He had a distinct southern drawl and a very approachable smile.

"Live long and Prosper, Lieutenant." the Commander responded, unable to perform the hand sign. "Welcome to Deep Space Three. Come in, take a seat."

He entered and sat down, looking up at the Commander. "Thank you, Commander. I am the new station's counselor, as you know."

"It pleases me that you have arrived. The crew has been through a lot of stressful situations lately, and I am quite glad that now they have someone that they can talk to." Tobias answered.

"I do have to admit though. Talking to you is causing a bit of a war between my ears and my eyes." he added with a slight smile.

"I'm happy to be here for the crew. And yes, folks say that to me all the time. I think I can relate to people more with my emotions not being suppressed. Any Vulcan's emotions are quite strong, and it was indeed a struggle. Now, I wish to help others with their struggles."

He scratched his neck and looked at the Commander again, thinking to himself. "How are you, Commander?"

"Well, If I am being completely honest, Lieutenant, I too am under a considerable amount of stress. Most of it, I believe, can be chalked up to the pressures of not only being in command of an installation this size, but also the fact that it is my first command as well. However, that is not the only source of stress right now. There are a lot of things going on here that is compounding the pressures. Troubles with Pirates, Civilian ships get harassed, an upcoming Peace Conference, and the list goes on."

He furrowed his brow. "Well, I did hear that command is very tough. All them things going on, that would take a toll on anyone. How are you managing this stress, Commander?"

He smiled warmly at the Commander, folding his hands in his lap.

"So far, lots of hot tea and the occasional locking the door and staring out the window." he confessed.

"So, you are managing it well. That's good." The Vulcan looked out the window. "Looking out there, it's quite soothing. I say, if you ever feel in need of anything, just tap the combadge. I'll be here. What do you do for fun, Commander?"

"I do not actually know what 'fun' is anymore." Tobias said with a bit of a sigh. "I did have a cup of coffee with a lovely young lady on the Promenade a few days ago, but as for hobbies, who really has time for that anymore?"

He cracked a smile at the Commander. "That sounds really good. For me, I play baseball and basketball on the holodeck. Fun things to do everywhere around here." He got his padd out and handed it to the Commander, all of his information on it. "I should've handed this to you earlier. All of my information is there, and the transfer papers."

He leaned forward and took the padd. "Thank you, but I actually already have a copy of all this. Handing over the padd is hold-over formality from a much older time."

"Well, you're welcome anyways." He sighed and looked at the Commander. "I have a few questions that I have been meaning to ask you ever since I came in through the airlock." He waited politely for the Commander's response.

"By all means. That is, after all, a big part of what I am here for."

"Alright. What is the current population of this station? Crew and civilians included." He took out a small notepad and looked at the Commander.

"Everyone included..." his voice trailed off as he did maths in his head. "I would estimate somewhere North of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand beings."

He blinked. "That's a ton of people. Alright." He rubbed his chin for a good while before looking back at the Commander. "I, uh, believe that's all I have for you!" He chuckled to himself, only one question? "Any questions for me?" The Vulcan tilted his head slightly.

"Yes, yes it is." the Commander responded, "...and No, I do not have any questions. You are dismissed Lieutenant."
