The Rude Welcome

Posted on Monday February 1st, 2021 @ 11:13pm by Captain Tobias Bishop III

Mission: The Forgotten Outpost
Location: Various
Timeline: Current

Martin could notice the old Centaurian Calisto class shuttle was starting to overheat and destabilize the warp field for a machine that had not been serviced in a while it was starting to show. The last ship's crew Starfleet had assigned him to didn't think much of their Chief Strategic Operations Officer that much, side-lining him all the time and this was a change of pace for now.

The computer remarked that the temp was reaching critical and that the warp field would destabilize and kick him out somewhere maybe even at Deep Space Three or into the unknown.

The alarm went off and the ship jerked as the autopilot had kicked the shuttle out of warp speed to cool down.

Suddenly Landau was making emergency manoeuvres as the hull of what looked like a battleship quickly approached, throwing him around as by a small margin managed not to collide with the massive ship.

From the shadow of the battleship Deep Space Three appeared. A sort of rude message was being repeated to tell Martin to in his mind get lost and wait for further instructions so he tried hailing the station several time getting no response then tried the voice approach.

"THIS IS THE EAGLE! ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO LET ME DOCK? I DONT GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT THE SITUATION, JUST GOD DAMN LET ME DOCK OR I'LL HAVE TO REPORT YOUR BEHAVIOUR TO THE COMMANDING OFFICER OR RATHER YOUR INSOBORDINATE BEHAVIOUR FOR NOT LETTING A NEW DEPARTMENT HEAD DOCK AT THIS STATION".

Silence loomed over the communications channels. Someone on the station was being rude and inconsiderate towards him and didn't care to have Martin on the station.

He could see the shields where up and was considering at best a warning shot to wake up the crew to let him dock.

As he got closer to the station the automated message changed winding the Centaurian up even further to the point where he would yell something far worse over coms channels to the station and wear the wrath of the CO once aboard.

"Shuttle Eagle, this is Deep Space Three Actual. Pilot, stand to, and identify." Bishop ordered, thoroughly unimpressed with the bluster of the pilot shouting over the comm system.

He scanned the Centaurian Calisto class shuttle "Commander one human aboard, the Registration says should be Lieutenant Commander Martin Landau a Strategic Operations officer " Trensu informs the Commander. "bad timing" he mumbles.

The power in the shuttle fluctuated as it switched to emergency backups apparently a relay had blown as he muttered to himself should have done the service as its not happy when its not being regularly serviced. Coms vanished as the console noted that blown relay had damaged the circuits he was starting to worry with shields up on the station and the fact he was supposed to arrive within a 3 day transfer window didn't help that much. The shuttle shuddered violently as something from the battleship had either hit him or was locked on like a tractor beam or something

Trensu looked at the scans and watch as the systems were falling on the Calisto class shuttle. "Commander, the Calisto class shuttle is having systems failure. what are your orders sir?" asked Trensu.

"Bring them in as safely as possible, and bring the pilot directly to me." Bishop responded, beginning to lose his cool.

"Aye, Sir" replied Trensu. Taping on the counsel he locks a tracker beam onto the Shuttle. "Shuttle, release your shuttle to DS3 now" ordered the Security chief. Trensu brought into Shuttle bay 5 pad 2.
