Mission: Shore Leave
Location: Main engineering

On:

After the call from Oberon’s Captain informing her that she was indeed the new Chief Engineer and with a promotion to Full Lieutenant to go with it, this surprised her, after all, she had been through in Operations, now she had one big mess to clear up and she knew her shore-leave was gone.

She looked around the engine room that had several terminals in pieces and wondered why this had happened, now she had to find out and quickly. As she strode out of her new office, Lisa said,” Lieutenant Williams, May I ask why several terminals are offline?”, she came to a halt in front of the tall Engineer.

“Ma’am, the last Chief told us to do this job before he quit,” replied the Lieutenant as he glanced up at Lisa from having pulled himself from under one of the dismantled terminals, he continued, “I know this is a new ship and all, but he wanted an overhaul of the systems,” as he knew that Lisa was not impressed.

“You do realise that you have ruined my shore leave don't you?” she exclaimed looking back at him, continued “I was invited to a trip with the New XO, but now due to this being done I have to oversee a refit,” as she was pissed off at missing out on the trip, she was not a happy bunny.

“I’m sorry ma’am “replied Lieutenant Williams as he knew himself that it was unscheduled to be done, but orders were Orders, He looked back at Lisa and said “estimated time for this is Six weeks Ma’am”

“Six weeks,” Lisa responded as she knew that she would have to notify the Captain that he may need to extend shore leave, she knew that he would not be happy with the works, but as they had been started, they could not be stopped.”I will inform the Captain, but I want a weekly update,”

“Yes Ma’am,” replied the Lieutenant as he slid back under the console he thought to himself oO Boy is she going to be tough to work with Oo as he heard the clicking of her boots as she had left him to continue to work on the Terminal.
