Moving on, living up.

Promotion, that’s a tricky word. All very well to say it until it jumps up and bites you on the ass. As much as I loved medicine and then counseling I think I have finally found my oeuvre and got bitten. Now he who shall be nameless has gone I have stepped into his shoes as the Executive Officer of the Oberon. Being Second Officer and then acting XO showed me that I can do it and love doing it. I feel I can do a good job of bringing our crew closer together and support Captain Trensu. I can and have made those difficult decisions and would die for the safety of the ship and everyone inside her. However before I take it on I am going to take a little shore leave. There is a small M class planet a couple of light years from here and I am going to explore it for a few days. Camping in the wilds is something I have missed and now that the good doctor helped me with Korial my symbiont I feel that I can cope if he begins to bother me. I might as Steven to come with me although as the Oberon’s new Science supreme he may be rather busy. I wonder if anyone else would like to come exploring? I will ask. Time to sleep hopefully a dreamless one without him.
