Jeepers Creepers 2: Creepers In Flight
Location: Coffeeshop on the main promenade
Timeline: early morning
On:
Svetlana was now wearing the correct uniform of the 21st Century US Army, rather than the black Starfleet of 2380, that many felt should have been the new uniform for the SCIS personnel. Though there were many within the SCIS that preferred to wear civlian clothes, many more wanted a mlitary look that wasn't influenced by the previous Starfleet Uniform, so the hunt was on, and finally a young military historian found what was once the most popular Amercan Army Uniform of the 21st Century.
Instead of reinventing the wheel, this uniform was brought back out of retirement, spruced up, given new material, and brought back into the 24th century. Though the uniform was not quite standard, it still had a professional look, did not look like some of the worse excuses for a uniform, and was very popular in the 2nd World War.
It was the old "Pink and Greens", made famous by WWII, and Every place Svetlana went in the Station, she drew a crowd wherever she went, and found herself saluting by all. But then a quick and forceful retort, a lowering of one of her eyebrows, from Svetlana quickly put down the need to salute her, and when people saw her credentials pinned over her right front breast pocket that said "SCIS", and the initials SSAIC, and the Type II phaser she wore in a leather holster on her left side, along with two batteries that were in a magazine carrier that was on her left side.
A sudden silence suddenly emanated from everyone, and now easily moving in the coffeeshop
made it easier for her to enjoy her morning coffee, and pastry.
With her PaDD now on the same channel of the Stations popular day time talk show, along with the weather for many parts of the known universe, Svetlana switched on the weather channel for Moscow, which said a major chill was now reported, temperatures down to -50 degrees, then it would rise up to a steady 75 degrees. Sitting there with a hot brew of coffee in her large mug, along with a plate of the latests pastry, Svetlana began to daydream a bit thinking of the best Russian Coffeeshop in Moscow. Feeling kind of satiated with the coffee and pastries, Svetlana was now busy on her PaDD working on some needed paperwork.
It was the end of his first seven cycles aboard Deep Space Three, and Ithahr has currently reached the evening of the seventh day, though as a senior officer he was always on call. As such, he had opted to take his communicator with him as he wandered the station's commercial areas, uniform loosened somewhat from the immaculate standard he tried to keep on duty. Spotting a smaller coffee shop, he thought he would try this. At least there would be less gawking than he was currently experiencing as Deep Space Three's latest addition to the senior officers' ranks.
As he stepped inside he noticed the shop was quieter than it should be, even for its size, with few patrons, save for a uniformed human who sat and was enjoying a meal. Ithahr ordered some food and a strong pitcher of coffee, and at the spur of the moment walked up to the uniformed woman. 'May I take a seat ... ah, Special Agent?' he asked, noticing the badge.
Looking up wondering who the hell someone was addressing her, she was about to say something contrary to good manners, but suddenly saw the uniform of a Commander, and remembered she had her SCIS Creds over her right front upper breast pocket. Quiet for a moment, Svetlana stood up and said well Sir, "Its Special Agent Chekov, and 'I do actually work for a living" Commander," commented Svetlana who had this warm smile on her face, and was laughing at her inside joke.
After gazing at the Commanders unkempt uniform, though he was still well groomed, Svetlana replied in a soft tone of voice and said ""SIR", "I hate to say this, but aren't you a bit out of uniform with your uniform loosened up a bit", replied Svetlana who continued to smile at the Commander.
"Now don't get mad commander; but I seem to remember back when, that a senior officer does not have the prerogative to let his grooming, and uniform standards go down even though he's tired," continued Svetlana. who had this twinkle in her eye as she smiled and returned back to her PaDD.
'There's no offence taken Special Agent Chekov,' replied Ithahr, emphasising the SCIS agent's name and taking the sarcastic reply as an invitation to take a seat. He made a triangle with his hands as he set them in front of him at the table, fingertips pointing towards the human. 'In fact you're quite correct, the uniform code should be adhered to at all times. Even if I've just come off duty.' He smiled, antennae quivering in anticipation, as his coffee and food arrived - a mountain of potato hash, chicken fried steak and gravy - 'could I interest you in some coffee for the trouble of the conversation?'
Looking at the meal of Chicken fried steak, gravy, made Svetlana said aloud..."I'm guessing that you're not a great KFC eater, Commander, as Svetlana poured a small amount of coffee into her own mug she had with her...
'Chicken? No ...' Ithahr smiled a little awkwardly as he cut up the steak into a polite portion to eat, 'if you'll pardon me, chicken rather reminds me of the first pet I had as a child. I'm aware that the Andorian creature is entirely unrelated to your Earth chicken, but the similarities in appearance have rendered them unappetising. An unfortunate cultural barrier I'm afraid.' Ithahr poured himself a healthy measure of coffee, 'this beverage, however, has no equivalent on Andoria. It and raktajino are a fortunate discovery for my people - I can't say that I get enough of it. Please don't be shy. I understand I have unlimited refills here.'
'And allow me to introduce myself properly, Special Agent Chekov. Lieutenant Commander Ithahr th'Shrannock, Deep Space Three's Executive Officer. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.'
