Yani chuckled but came over to help rescue stuff before the Major could peel the tops open to peek inside.

Krang was beginning to wonder just what he had gotten himself in the middle of.

C'Rell smiled at Krang before stepping over towards the wagon. "Lieutenant Zang, please transfer the food to the table, Private chue, you help her please. Private Antako, remove the hat as your major requested." His nose twitched at the variety of smells emanating from the wagon. Some he didn't like the smell of though there were some that he enjoyed the smell of too.

The hat was simply gone as if it had never been. Rhys started to help lay out the salami and cheese, the vegetable tray and fruits and of course buffo wings and bbq ribs.

"Save up our rations every week for this little splurge" Del said the chief hat in his hands he was looking at it curious and then slipped it on and headed off to grab a Coke and a seat.

Cassi put out the plates and then sent Rhys off to do his watch detail. "Thanks Private, don't forget to kick Reginald in the twins for me like a good boy please."

"No worries Doc. Ill do it." He waved to the two big animals that seemed to be the only ones behaving out of the whole ruckus. "Win big." and the Private was gone. Kai also skipped out. Still sore over the mishap earlier in the day she had been avoiding the new Executive officer at every turn.

Cassi and Yani made plates. Cassi looked up to C'Rell. "What would you like??" She asked pleasantly. She wished she had thought to invite the Corporal to join them.

C'Rell stepped closer and looked at the food. No raw meat. His eyes fell on the fruits and vegetables and his nose crinkled. "Meat please."

Yanni motioned for Krang to come over and help himself. "Even if you lose the food makes it worth it." she said with a lopsided grin.

"I can't argue with your logic on that one." he answered, walking over and beginning to gather a plate of food.

Once everyone was settled Del began to open the decks of cards and they started to shuffle in the air as if by invisible hands. "Five card draw this round. A few practice runs to air things out and then we can place bets."

C'Rell sat at the table in one of the two larger chairs and looked at the cards. "I am not knowledgeable in this game Major." He said honestly. In the academy, he was never invited to these things. Oh he got invited places but it was where his size worked to the advantage of the ones he was with.

Watching the cards dance, Krang had a suddenly realization. "Shouldn't you be banned from gambling since your a telepath?"

"I should be. We can look at this as a trust exercise then. I promise I wont read y'alls minds." Del said smiling over at the giant ape like man like a naughty child.

"Oh good." Said Cassi with a sly grin of her own. "I can think again!! halleluiah!! Good thing too I had this guy I wanted to daydream about in peace. Can finally do it with out the mind stalker jumping in to read my mind while i am up to it."

This made Del and Yanni chuckle. It was Yani who poked the Major in the ribs and said her voice still filled with that warm mirth. "Explain the game to the XO before I grow old and take root to my seat please."

"Oh yes sorry there big fella." Del said as he took a moment to lay the large freshly shuffled deck to the side. "Well, Requirements are A standard deck of cards, no Jokers, At least 2 players we have 5 so I added a few extra decks to keep it interesting, Then Poker chips or a substitute if you have one. Its optional." Del said. "When learning to how to play basic poker is not nearly as hard as many people imagine. There are generally two types: Stud Poker and Draw Poker. The rules for these games are almost identical. In Stud Poker, each player is dealt five cards, or seven for some games. Players then assess the relative strength of their hands and wager chips accordingly. The player who bids the most chips wins unless someone else is willing to match the player’s bet. In that scenario, the two or more players remaining will show their cards. The best hand wins all the chips. You with me so far??" Del asked.

C'Rell nodded, trying to keep up with the instructions as they are given. "Aye Major, I'm with you so far."

Del smiled and nodded as he continued on, "The rounds of betting work like this: Starting to the left of the dealer, each player has four options, Raise where A player who thinks he has a good hand (or who wants the other players to think he has a good hand) may increase the wager required to continue playing, Fold where A player who thinks his hand is not good enough to win and who does not want to wager the increased amount may lay down his cards. He cannot win the hand, but he also will not lose any more chips, Call where Once a player has raised the stakes, each player must decide whether to raise the stakes again, to give in and fold his hand, or to call, which means to equal the amount wagered by the player who raised. Then, Check, where If no one has increased the wager required to continue, a player may stand pat by checking, or passing on his option to bet. While there are many varieties of poker games, the same basic rules apply to almost all of them. Typically, five or seven cards are dealt to each player. Players attempt to form the best five-card poker hand possible (see below). For every poker game, the same hierarchy of hands exists, and the better hands are rarer and more difficult to achieve than the lesser hands. Individual cards are ranked from best to worst. The rank of a card often breaks the tie if two players achieve the same hand. The Ace is the most valuable card. From there, it goes in descending order: King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2." As he spoke the cards flew out and laid down neatly in order for him to see the lay out of each and in order. "Like this"

C'Rell watched, amazed that his CO could move stuff without touching it. "How are you doing that? Your not touching them but the cards move." He slid his chair back a few feet and stood up. The tuffs of hair on his ears fluffed and the batting like ears laid back against his skull. "Those have to be haunted." A low growl escaped his throat as he stared at the cards.

Cassandra reached up and gave the XO a calming pat. "The Major is a telekinetic. It's a part of his people's evolutionary things."

Yani was so use to it that the XO's surprise caught her off guard and she had begun to chuckle heartily.

Del frowned and looked at the cards shifting and let them drop. "I forget they never do warn anybody about it and it not in my public file. But yes I am as she says. A telekinetic and a telepath. But I assure you i spend a great deal of my time blocking everyone out to be a worry to you or anyone else. I like to mind my own business. Makes life a bit easier." He said. "Please it's okay sit."

C'Rell cautiously sat back down, his turquois eyes never left the deck of cards.

After the large Kztin had sat back down Del finished explaining the Hands and cards to him. the high cards and the the combinations. When he was sure that C'Rell had gotten it. He smiled and leaned back. "You ready?"

C'Rell nodded but his tail flicked nervously and every time a card moved , even by hand, his ears would twitch.

Del picked the cards up and prepared to deal by hand this time to help his friend feel more comfortable. "Okay lets begin then."

Krang took a seat, though he was still very skeptical of the Major. "Deal me in."
