Mission: The Forgotten Outpost
Location: Promenade deck Level 1
Timeline: Current.

ON:

Lieutenant Trensu, repliedSvetlana; let's say that I'm here on official business, and I really don't care for your attitude towards me, I was only asking the Ensign a question as to why he asked whether I was in Law Enforcement.

Since you decided to tell me, rather than the Ensigns, then (as Svetlana got into Trensu's face) and calmy in a female deep voice " my business to the station replied Svetlana is that "That I am the new incoming SSA for the SCIS team here on the statin" and I"m now beginning to think you don't like the idea of a SCIS team here, and would rather have more Security Investigators here, instead of a team of civilians performing the work of your Investigations Department, that doesn't care about your own type of military decorum; replied Svetlana who wasn't even swayed or threatened by Trensu'so-called "voice of authority".

Lieutenant, I just got in late this afternoon, I'm tired, hungry, and pissed; then to have some Ensigns asks me "If I'm in Law Enforcement". I would have thought you'd have already scanned me for weapons, pulled up your ships files to see If I've signed in, which tells me that your folks have not, so either you have a bunch of unintelligent imbeciles in the guise of Ensigns, or you're not doing your job, Lt. (As Svetlana continued to dig deeper and deeper into the Lieutenant's own sense of authority, for Svetlana loved making Starfleet personnel crazy, as she would continue to dig and needle at the same time).

I was sent here by SCIS to run the civilian detachment. Now if I'm not mistaken and with that, I do have a little pull, then she pulled out her "hole Card", I think that Admiral Gibbs would be better instead of me in trying to "talk to "YOU" lieutenant"

In case you've forgotten or hate to think about us, Our primary function is to investigate criminal activities involving Starfleet and SF Marine Corp. personnel, Family members, Federation Civilians who commit a crime on any Star Base or Deep Space station, along with VIPS from the many Federation signatories, their families, and their staff, either here on the station or at their home planet.

The vast majority of NCIS personnel are civilians Federation Government Employees. Our team operates as an independent Law Enforcement agency, outside and over the controls of your own policies and that of the Station Commander, We only respond if the crime falls into certain parameters, and we are free to rescind any assistance if needed, back to Security Investigations.

As mandated by law, and Starfleet, we are armed at all times. Any orders by you to the contrary or the Commander will result in a charge of "interfering with the duties of a Federation Law Enforcement Agent" and will result in your or whoever you told to enforce it will result in their arrests.

The duty uniform for a Special Agent in SCIS is generally civilian clothes, and we do not wear any rank, nor are we identified by our GS level, if and when Admiral Gibbs decides that we should all wear a uniform for a rare specific function, we wear the colors of the Diplomatic Corp. which is usually purple, and If I were a betting woman.

We are not called civilian, nor any other derogatory name that you have for Federation Government Employees, we are all called "Special Agents", and I am a Supervisory Special Agent". Now is that Clear Lieutenant, or do "I have to sit down and write you a letter?"

Now Lieutenant Trensu, I'm not here to bust your balls, but I think that it is imperative that we have this constructive meeting between the two of us.

"Now is there anything else you want to know more about the SCIS; or are you generally in the habit of trying to show your trainees who's boss by pissing off another Law Enforcement agent or agency?

I do hope that this is "NOT" the case because I would hate to wake up the Admiral to complain about your behavior, oh and my name is Special Agent Chekov. "Not hey you", or "you there", but Special Agent Chekov, and that goes for my Team, along with Dr. Smith who is the SCIS Medical Examiner, and he will be referred to as the "Me" or "Dr. Smith"

"Duly noted Special Agent Chekov" he responds. Then turned to the other Officers "see you all later move along." He orders the other security officer. They all replied "yes sir" and walked off.

"Now for you Special Agent Chekov. I like your explanation and know full well who and what you are. I don't hate you for being on DS3 I welcome it. The reason the Ensign was going to ask you the question of Law enforcement it's his job. Before you jump think. before you get in my Officers face. I know of your authority investigative Civilian matters" he said in a calm professional manner. "But it ends there! If you ever come at me like that again in front of my officers The least of your problems will be with me and you will see the Admiral !" His tone sharp and stern.

"Don't mistake may rank for inexperience I was doing this before your great grandfather was born. I was offered your job and turned it down. I or my officers question anyone in civilian clothing carrying a weapon that we don't know, it is our job! Special Agent Chekov." lowering his voice some. "Now you are not in my or my officer's chain of command so don't go around thinking you have that authority order them or me around. I did not inform all of them of your presents on this station in respect of your job. Just in case you needed to be undercover." He relaxed some "remember it's a two-way street Special Agent Chekov of cooperation you do not go to my Officers you come to me. So I can make sure you get the support you need and I will do the same for you." Trensu said informing the Special Agent.

He paused smiling "Next note the Ambassiors and their security will be on Civilian clothing at times and carrying weapons. Try not to interfere with their duties and to not go into their embassies armed. It could end badly for you.k If you need anything just ask and I will make sure you get it. I know the line between military and civilian investigations but it does not mean we can't work together." Trensu looked down at her coffee "now can I get you a new coffee that one is cold by now. we can sit and talk like the professionals we are" he said smiling.

Suddenly Svetlana broke out in a loud laugh, to take the edge off what could have gone terribly wrong. Like a brand new kid on the block she was executing her own presence letting Trensu know that she would fight anyone who tried to establish a new territory, Like Trensu he was only protecting his territory.

Touche replied Svetlana who was trying to make the best out of a bad tactical mistake more in her favor. But the Lieutenant did raise a few points, and thinking about it, Svetlana sort of shrugged her shoulders and in a soft voice that was only audible to the both of them.

"Lieutenant, since you mentioned coffee, however, I have a better idea. We in Russia have an older custom that goes back further than you, ad it goes like There is an old custom that we have here my old country of Russia; it is when two parties come to a disagreement, we usually drink Vodka to settle our differences. However, Lieutenant, you may be good at providing Security; but I doubt that you can beat me at the national pastime of old mother Russia...drinking down "10 bottles of Vodka, replied Svetlana with a laugh was she was now going down the Promenade deck...

Trensu looked surprised at the challenge walking with her. "Is Vodka, like whisky? I have only known the federation and Earth for the last 200 years to be honest," he says. "Since we are equals in a way you do not have to call me Lieutenant all the time Trensu is fine." He requests. "Now for Vodka never had it. Romulan ale is the strongest stuff I have had here well next to some Klingon stuff. I am willing to take your challenge, Chekov. Can I call you that?" asked trensu.

Seeing that Trensu was making an attempt at making friends, Svetlana smiled and with a laugh said... Yes that would be fine. And in her mind Svetlana was already thinking... "Wait till we get to the 3rd bottle, you wouldn't know what hit you..Laugh Svetlana.
