New Cadet

Mission: Shore Leave
Location: USS Oberon, Captains office,Mess hall
Timeline: Just prior to Shore Leave.

ON:
She stands up straight. "I'm reporting for duty, sir. I don't know if there's any other reason why I'm here. "
She waits to see what happens.

Cadet Shevnu arrived on the Oberon in the afternoon. At least she thinks it's the afternoon it's hard to tell in space. She is assigned a private room in the general quarters of the crew. She is looking forward to her training as an Intelligence Operative and wonders what the training will be exactly. She settles into her room and places her clothes and small nick-nacks around the room. She knows that it will only be a short wait until she will be called to her first day on the ob. She doesn't know what that will be exactly but is looking forward to it. After a short time, she wonders if she should go and get something to eat, and find the mess hall. Also, maybe a look around so she can find her way from place to place later on.

Captain Trensu sat back in his chair. Looking at his desk it had a few PaDDs here and the viewer on the wall was displaying the ship's status. Trensu walked passing a few weapons on the wall things that he had collected over the years. "Vulcan tea green, hot" he ordered. The replicator showed some swirling lights and a cup of tea appeared in a black tea cup.

Hearing his number one coming to the office "Niali, glad you could join me" Trensu said with a smile. "Take a seat, Captain Bushido should be calling any time now, " Said Trensu as he walked back to his desk. "If you did not know he is the head of personnel in this sector." Trensu explained as he sat." Before Niali could reply the Computer announced an "incoming message" as it chimed. "computer put it on the viewer" the viewer changed to a man sitting in an office behind a standing desk. He smiled "Lieutenant Commander Trensu, Lieutenant Commander Doctor Korial Glad to see you both. I am Captain Bushido head of personnel in this sector" said the man.

Trensu gave him a nod "what can we do for you sir?" asked Trensu.

“Captain Bushido, Haru,” Niali smiled. “Lovely to see you again.” She gave Trensu a look as if to say she would tell him later.

Captain Bushido leaned in some."I know you now have a cadet that just arrived today. I owe you an explanation." He looked over getting a PaDD. "Trensu your records shows that you have done some instruction at the academy. I have something to ask of you. Cadet Fhiza Shevnu has been doing ok in her courses but did not do well in her Cadet course. I sent you the report. I need you two to reevaluate the cadet and give her another chance. Sorry, it had to be you but you are the closest and most qualified to do it. We need officers Trensu can you save this one?" asked Captain Bushido.

Trensu looked over to Niali "what do you think Number one?" Trensu said with a smile almost intended to put her on the spot.

“I think if anyone can do it we can here on the Oberon Sir. However, I think our 2XO should be involved in this as well, let’s get the whole Command Team behind her Sir.” Naili said enthusiastically.

Captain Bushido smiled "That's fine, I will let the two of you take care of Cadet Shevnu. Trensu, give me weekly reports on the Cadet I look forward to seeing what you can do for her Lieutenant Commanders, and thank you, Captain Bushido, out." Then the viewer returned to the ship's status.

"I need to call that cadet up here, I hope you are ready Naili" said Trensu.

Trensu tapped his com badge there was a chirp =/\= Captain Trensu to Cadet Fhiza Shevnu, please come to the Captain's Ready Room, Captain out. =/\=

Then Trensu tapped the badge again =/\= Captain Trensu to Lieutenant Edgeware =/\=

Suddenly she gets an identifying beep on her com-badge. " Captain Trensu to Cadet Fhiza Shevnu, to the Captain's Ready Room, Captain out." Ah, this is it. She straightens out her uniform and walks out of her room and down a hallway to a turbolift Entering she simply tells the elevator "Captains Ready room, please." The elevator moves motionlessly and stops after a few seconds. She exits the turbolift. She approaches the Captains room door and presses the buzzer. She adds: "Cadet Shevnu to see you, sir."And waits

-Mess hall-

Paperwork. Since he had become not only the Chief Science Officer but also the second officer. There seemed to be an awful lot more than before. When he was in medical, fearing his eyes would turn oblong. After looking through all the Padds he had. Steven decided to take a well-earned coffee break.

He was just about to lift a hit mug of coffee to his lips when his comm. badge chirped.

=/\= Edgeware here Captain how may I help you?=/\= He asked

=/\= I need to see you in my ready room. I need your help with something. =/\=

=/\= On my way Captain.=/\= Steven said.

Steven debated whether to take the mug of coffee with him. A few moments later armed with a mug of coffee Steven arrived at the CO’s office. He pressed the door chime and waited to be allowed in.

With the cadet Shevnu and the Chief of Science Edgeware standing outside Captain Trensu's Ready Room. Trensu looked over to Niali, then at the door sitting back in his chair. "Enter!" he said loudly. "Cadet Fhiza Shevnu, glad to see you aboard the Oberon safely. I am captain Trensu this is the Executive Officer Lieutenant Commander Niali Korial Dr. and Chief Science Officer Lieutenant Steven Edgeware, this is our new Cadet that you also will help mentor. This will be a command team effort. Both of you have a seat" there are two open chairs in front of the Captain's desk.

"Cadet Fhiza Shevnu do you know why you are here?" asked the Captain now sipping some tea."

Niali took a proffered seat and smiled at the Orion woman trying to make her feel a little less nervous.

Steven nodded at the cadet and took a chair. He sipped on his coffee and gave the cadet a friendly smile.

Niali observed the Cadet’s nervousness and smiled. “Please, sit down cadet and take a deep breath”.

After she's asked to sit, Fhiza sits in the nearest chair. "It's nice to be here. I'm happy to have this opportunity."

“And we are glad to have you Cadet. We hope you will be happy here and learn as much as you can. We are a good ship and anyone would be happy to help you. Are you happy with your quarters Cadet?”

Fiza relaxed in the chair. " Yes, my quarters are wonderful. What will my first assignment be? I’m ready for just about anything."

Steven had to smile. The Cadet reminded him of a young Steven Edgeware many years ago.

“ Well. I could do with some help in Science if you like.” Steven said.
