Mission: The Forgotten Outpost
Location: Airlock
Timeline: Current

Free Romulan Ship Chula

As the ship was cleared to dock, Vaebn assembled his staff in the corridor outside the airlock. If nothing else, the ambassador had a flair for the dramatic. He, and his companions, were dressed in full ceremonial regalia. Robes and all.

"Alright people. We've only one chance to show the Federation who we are. Not a weakened former Empire, but a reinvigorated state open to diplomacy and mutual understanding." Vaebn clasped his hands. "Form up." He bellowed.

Behind the ambassador and to his right was Consul Kellara. To her left was Major Reilan, for the Ambassador's Security. Just behind them were Undersecretary Jerot , Colonel D'Ralek, Subaltern Areinnye, and Undersecretary D'Lara. The rear of the procession was taken up by four guards.

As everyone moved to their places, the airlock hissed open allowing a view into the station.

Deep Space 3

The Commander stood in front of the airlock, flanked on either side by his Executive Officer and the station's Chief of Security. He nodded to Trensu to open the airlock.

As they step onto the station there was a heavy security presence. The two Security officers on both sides of the airlock archway snapped to attention. As the Ambassador's party entered the station. the Party could see other Security in the background. Trensu gave a smile but said nothing just looking over at the Ambassador's party.

Olivia gritted her teeth behind a fake smile. Romulans. She internally grumbled. Her third least favorite race. And here they were, days before a critical diplomatic conference they weren't invited to, here to ruin everything again. It took every ounce of her training to retain a professional demeanor.

As the Romulan delegation stepped onto the station from the airlock, the imposing facades of the robed Vulcanoids were visible to the officer's assembled. Consul Kellara stepped out of formation as the group halted. "Ambassador Vaebn D'Varo of the Romulan Free State." She spoke her introduction clearly and firmly before sliding back to her spot.

Vaebn regarded the Starfleet Officers, waiting for one to make a move.

Tobias bowed from the waist and said "Jolan'tru, Kiitha D'Varo. Aefvadh Deep Space Three."* then in standard he added, "I am Commander Tobias Bishop, Commanding Officer here. This is Lieutenant Commander Lorrietta, my Number One, and Lieutenant Trensu, Chief of Station Security."

* (Greetings Ambassador, D'Varo. Be Welcomed to Deep Space Three)

When introduced Trensu bows slightly " Llairhi Vaebn D'Varo, aefvadh." then in standard "It is a honer, Ambassador" He says respectfully. Trensu was not sure if he got it right it had been fifty years and did not practice enough during the academy. Trensu did not get much warning about the Ambassador Just arriving himself.

Olivia didn't bow. She offered the Ambassador a nod. "Welcome to Deep Space 3, Ambassador D'varo." She said in as close to a professional tone as she could manage. "I am told there is a diplomatic suite prepared for you already. I hope it is to your liking." She added.

He could tell there was no love for the Romulans from the XO. He had really nothing against them. His hatred was a reserve for the Borg. His first 24 horses had been busy for Trensu. He did not want to spend his whole time here with this. He needed to check on the ship and the ongoing investigation and not babysit Romulans.

Vaebn smirked. "While I'm certain that display was meant to be impressive," He looked at the CO and his security Chief, " it only proves the Federation's proclivity for perverting and exploiting the cultures of others for a cheap novelty." The ambassador rolled his eyes dismissively. "My Chief of Staff, Consul Kellara. My Security Chief, Major Reilan.Colonel D'Ralek. Undersecretaries Jerot and D'Lara. And Subaltern Areinnye ." He moved through the names quickly and then approached his major question. "I trust our Embassy is prepared for my arrival?"

Olivia gave just the slightest of smirks at that. "It is, yes." She nodded, checking a PADD. "Though I fully expect you not to trust it, there's a secure line continuously available to your ship, and government available in your office, and appropriate measures have been taken to ensure your privacy which I also expect you not to trust, either."

Vaebn regarded the First Officer. Contempt laced her voice, yet she was the only not putting on pretense for his sake. “Tell me, Miss Lorietta, do I have a reason not to trust your word?”

"You're Romulan. We aren't." Olivia shrugged. "Never met a Romulan who took me at face value when I tried my best to be diplomatic and kind. Figured you'd appreciate skipping the formalities and getting started on setting up your offices."

As introductions are over "we should start moving". Turned turned to a security officer and gave him a nod. "Ambassador, If you come this way we will show you and your staff to your and their quarters." Informed Trensu He motions to a security officer.

"Ambassador, I am Chief Petty Officer Thompson If you would fallow me." He turned and starts to walk To the left. As the Ambassador's party starts to walk the officers at the doors fall into the back following the Ambassador's party.

Trensu falls in next to Major Reilan. "Major Reilan, when you get settled we need to talk about your stay and security while you are on this station. For now, everywhere you go you will have two of my security officers with Ambassador. they will not go to the offices or your quarters but be stationed outside of them. until we have our talk." said Trensu in a polite but stern tone.
