had enough on his plate with the Romulans. This investigation was getting to him. Now he had just heard from Krueger there were some energy life forms on the S.S. Westward. Security was keeping a close eye on the ship. Trensu stopped before he walked into operations. He looked over the Padd in his hands and some of the comms traffic and other operations systems of the S.S. Westward.
Walking up to the Chief operations door it was open. Trensu saw Lieutenant JG Geno sitting behind his desk. Trensu knocked on the door frame to get Geno's attention. "Geno, it has been a while. I heard you got stationed here too." said cheerfully as Trensu walked in.
Geno looked up from the displays and smiled. It was a friendly voice and one known to him. Off to the side of the office was the stuff that the prior Chief of Operations had left for him. On the wall behind the desk were some books and a few things to make it seem more personal. On the north and west walls were large displays flipping through the system reading of the systems under his command.
"Lieutenant Trensu, good see you again, sir. What brings you down to Deck 26? I am hoping it is to tell me that security has help captured two boars that escaped the SS Bean off of docking bay 237," Geno asked. The picture of the crew chasing down the three tusked animals was amusing and terrifying. He would watch the security feed later. Something was missed by his people that would have allowed the swine to cause chaos.
After a little small talk, Geno tapped into a couple of the nearby subspace relays, if you call 27 light-years away near, along with the stations' subspace receivers to come up with a plot of the S.S. Westward's course. He handed Trensu a Padd with the information started and estimated when the attack occurred in the timeline.
He had already captured the official manifest and crew and passenger rosters he thought the security officer would want.
Trensu looked over the information "This does give us a lead on where and when. The question his who? can you go over our logs to see if anything was picked up by the station?" asked Trensu. he sat back in the chair looked at the Padd.
Geno leaned back for a moment then keyed in a couple of commands to pull up the station scanner logs. The station's scanners were constantly scanning space around them, but most of the information was passively processed by the computers.
"Let's see what we can find," he said pulling up and filtering the data to the section they were after. He applied a "B" wave Gausian filter to dampen the "noise" that the scanners picked up. He waited a few moments for the computer to apply the filters.
Trensu looked at Geno "So did you imagine being chief of operations when you got here?" Trensu asked. thinking about how surprised he was when he found out he was the chief of security. "If you find something see if you can see what the type of ship was sending the signals. your anything you can get from the logs of the S.S. Westward's?" he asked.
Leaning back in his chair Geno said, "I was about as surprised as when you set me up on a blind date with that redheaded Klingon. I am still in touch with her and she's got, two sisters." He smiled. It was a fun evening as Geno remembered it and it included a good bar fight that he mostly stayed out of the way of. If you call two black eyes and a broken arm out of the way.
Geno brought the information up and displayed it on the large screen so both officers could see it. He then overlaid the flight paths of the ships that they knew about that were in the area.
"It appears they encountered something," Geno said with some surprise.
"Something got in their way causing the ship to reduce speed and change direction to keep from hitting it," he said with a puzzled look on his face.
"Let's check what we see when we add the gravitation waves from the T-239 pulsar and look for distortions and then apply thermal differentials to see if there was exhaust from ships.
He pulled in the second set of data from the secondary upper scanners to give them a doppler effect. The rough shape of two ships came up on the display. One that appeared to intercept the ship and a second that appears to be boarding the ship as it connected to the hatch.
On his console, he queried the ship's systems.
He got a puzzled look on his face.
"It looks like whoever did this damaged the main computer," he said.
"It would take your people and a team of engineers to get anything out of that system. They would also have to be up close and personal," He said.
"I'll have to send a request back to the Sol system and get legal to work with the company to try to get more information," he said. He also planned on doing some indirect queries through the relays to see if he could find out more information. It wasn't illegal, but it was questionable. When it got to the point that he needed to do more than analyze logs he would get Trensu involved.
All Trensu need was a ship, a name any information at all. "The computer system was damaged. They knew what they were doing. That means they had some formal training." said Trensu. He sat quietly for a moment. "I need to get down there anyway I have to see the energy life forms and deal with them." he got up and stood there saying "Geno, if you need something just contact me you have my support on anything you need for this investigation. Thank you for your time and help," he said.
Geno smiled and said, “Shuttle 23 is yours to use! Want a pilot?”
"No, I am good going to use something bigger." replied trensu
