The watch officer said, “Auxiliary reactors are coming online. Shields are operational.” The last part seemed a bit hesitant.
Meanwhile Lt. Maxx was in the middle of sorting out the mess that was the Science department when his coms went off loudly,
"Yellow alert." Olivia narrowed her eyes. "Lieutenant Trensu, I want you and the flight control officer ready for possible hostiles. Lieutenant Maxx, trace that signal." She paused and tapped her comm badge. "Commander Bishop to operations, please. We may have a situation brewing."
Lt. Maxx almost dropped the handful of datapads in his arms since he was not ready to be interrupted so abruptly. He quickly switched screens to see what Olivia was referring to and saw the commotion involving the Battleship. "Oh this won't end well," muttered Lt. Maxx as he began pushing many buttons at a fast rate.
He had already memorized the keyboard format from his prior memories from the past lives of hosts. He sent a message for them to drop their shields and accept their hail under Starfleet protocols or they will be seen as a hostile force in all forms of languages. Then he ran a multitude of scans on the battleship to see if he could get any clues on what he was dealing with. He needed to know as much as possible in case he had to disable the shields ASAP in case things escalated.
So Talerian decided to use the same underhanded tactics to even the odds as he studied the shield energy signature along with the signal Olivia wanted. So Lieutenant Maxx studied the polarity and possible patterns he could use to disrupt the shields even if temporarily. Maxx then hailed Oliva, "Working on counter measures if needed ma'am."
Alie had her squadrons ready to launch and was just waiting for the order. If this was going to get hairy, she would need her full 1st and 2nd tiers of fighters out there.
"Bold of you to assume they're the ones doing the taunting." Olivia grumbled. She looked up at the screen, and cursed as a second ship appeared, and struck the ship with something. It's power went completely out. "RED Alert. Battlestations." Olivia paused and looked around. "Operations to Commander Bishop, we definitely have a situation. Somebody get me a sensor reading on whatever the HELL that was. We've seen the end results of it before, and I do not want it happening to our station."
Geno did not hesitate and leaned in to push a high powered scan of the second ship for the XO. To the watch he said, “Make sure the weapons have the power they needs and get that freighter out of there, use a tractor beam if needed.” He dropped the harmonic music through the shields.
“Computer, use the secondary communication array to send out microbust pulses of low powered ULF waves and use the secondary scanner arrays and the deployed navigation markers to capture analyze the pulse patterns. Look for deflections and reflections in the wave forms to see if there are any other hidden ships laying dormant near by,” Geno said. This was a theory he had been working on. It was possible to use the particle properties of light to create a cloaking field. He theorized that long waves would deflect differently since their lamda properties would require less energy to deflect but would get accelerated by cloaking fields and a dark ship would just stop the wave completely.
His hands danced across his tactical station as the lights turned from yellow to red. "Rotating and modulating the shields. "It is an energy dampening weapon. I have not seen anything like it in 30 years" he said.
Trensu turned to engineering station. "it will disrupt focused phased energy" change are phased energy to .03 off phase-frequency standard. or rotate it if they get it are phase-frequency we are dead in space." he turned back to his station. "XO permission to fire torpedos." he asked.
They are too far out from Deep Space Three. I can not extend our shields and wrap around the battleship. Watch for transporter activity try to intercept." ordered Trensu. "I Could bring the Battleship in by tractor beam." He suggested.
With the red alert, Alie reacted, "Squadrons 1 and 2 launch now!" Punching her control panel, "Viper 1" launched out into space. "All fighters form up on me" she said into her mic. "Deep Space 3 Ops, Viper 1, launched Squadrons 1 and 2. Tier 3,4, and 5 are now on standby ready to launch on your orders. Squadrons 1 and two flying CAP now" Alie said as her two squadrons formed up on her. Switching to her fighters comlink, "Fly full CAP, watch your sixes and civilian ships. No heroics unless called for Viper 1 out" she said as each pilot gave her the comlink clicks acknowledging her orders.
Lt. Geno reached across the console and adjusted some power settings. "Tractors beams are powered. The ranges seems a bit long but we may be able to get them," He worried about the repair that would be needed from extending the beams that far..
Trensu looked over to the XO and said, "Awaiting your orders Ma'am."
Lorrietta looked to Bishop. "The diplomatic convoy appears to be the target of a weapon similar to what some of the other ships disabled in the area have suffered." She paused. "Bloody bold to attack them this close to the station. Situation has been upgraded to red alert status and we have birds in the air. Recommending we follow the security chief's suggestion to blow them out of the sky, sir."
"Starfleet does not fire first." Bishop answered. "Order the fighters to intercept and let us attempt the tractor beam."
"Commander Bishop, I think it is an energy dampening weapon. I have not seen anything like it in a long time. It will disrupt focused phased energy. I don't need to tell you what will happen if they hit us with it Sir." informed Trensu.
"Due respect, Commander." Olivia tried to keep her composure. "That ship just fired on a diplomatic vessel in our airspace. They have already made hostile actions."
Trensu was relieved that the XO brought that fact up that they fired first. He just had to remember he gives advice he does not make command decisions. Trensu had weapons at the ready. The shields were up he was ready to execute any command given to him.
Alie was waiting for orders from Command.
Under his breath, Bishop issued a string of invective. Out loud he said "Flights 1 and 2, intercept and fire to disable. Tactical, grab the diplomatic vessel and bring it in with the tractor beam. Target the aggressor in case they target the station while flights 1 and 2 intercept."
Geno pressed his communicator and said, "Repair crews to your ready stations."
"Aye, Sir, targeting ship with tractor beams bringing it in Sir." said Trensu. "the tractor beams are having a difficult time. The weapon they used on it is having some residual effect on the tractor beams. I am at 50 percent strength still have a lock and moving them, but slowly." informed Trensu.
"That's... Disturbing." Lorrietta winced. "What do you suggest, Commander?"
"Commander" Trensu looking at his panel "They are within range we could wrap our shields around them" he suggests.
"Yes. Make it happen." he agreed.
"Yes sir" he starts taping on his panel "I have them Sir, whatever they attack the ship with is interfering with the shields as well. but I have compensated for it now. I now have them shielded and the tracker beam at 95 percent now" informed Trensu.
