Del helped guide Yani to his chair and got her settled. She was still sobbing and Kai was right there. What was he going to do with her? She couldnt keep doing this. His choices were limited. but first thing was first. He opened a channel and sent an urgent message to Thomas and hoped he wasnt in the middle of anything to damn important that they could get this sorted.

An image of a young man with brown hair and brown eyes wearing a Starfleet marine uniform appeared on the screen. "Major? Why are you calling me at this hour? Did something happen to Yani?" Fear and panicky could be heard flooding that last question.

"You ask that as though you already knew, She is fine, she just, She had a .. well, a moment and I think it might be a good idea for her to get some face time with you and see that you and Martha are okay. Might help." Del said his tone was tired. Yani could be seen in the chair as he moved aside. Her face was buried in Saus'Kais shoulder.

Kai smiled when she saw him on the screen and leaned down to say in yanis ear softly. "Hey theres that good looking man of yours. See he is okay. Hes fine. Hi Tommy!"

Yani peeked over. Her face was pink and her eyes dark and haunted. "Honey.. I .. They... I.." She had no words. She was happy to see him, more then happy really. but it was overshadowed by the humiliation of what she had just done. She buried her face in her hands and wept aknew.

Kai tried to stroke her hair but Yani pushed her hand away angrily. She didn't deserve their comfort, their friendship, she could have hurt them and had hurt at least several people and one big flanking Cat. Del knew that this was a good time to talk to Kai on the side about what had set things off. And to do a touch of clean up. He motioned for Kai to follow him and she did silently. She gave one final worried look at Yani in the big chair curled up looking so small and so upset. Then let the Major pull her from the office.

"Yani, look at me please." Thomas's image asked. "Tell me what happened please." He called to her.

"Their are people here. And they... they said that they are part of the alfa team. One guy tried to tell me he is Jones. But its not him.. Honey I am trying to tell them that theirs an imposter and no one would believe me. It wasnt him.. Jones is dead, it cant be him. The face was wrong." She said the last weakly but her tone was desperate she had moved to put her face overly close to the cam, She was whispering more then talking as if to try to not be over heard. Then she asked, "Why did they call you? Where are you? Your not on the ship? Who's watching Martha?"

"Slow down my love. I'll sort this out for you." Than as said as he is seen obviously typing on a console. "Ok, as to your team, yes there is a Jones and it isn't the Jones you know. This is a completely different person. I see quite a few new replacements including...." His voice trailed off and a worried yet curious look crossed his face.

Yani caught his look and her body became tense. "What is it? What's happened. Thomas.. Thomas where is Martha?"

"Relax, Martha's in bed, hopefully asleep. What caught me off guard is the one they chose to replace Zymbus. They put another Kzinti that looks very close to him but is different. The markings and some of the shades in the fur vary from Zymbus's markings and coloration." Thomas said smiling at her to try and get her to calm down a bit.

"Yeah the Major called him C'Rell." Yani said quickly her body relaxed as her eyes grew sharper as her mind tried to puzzle it out. Why indeed. "Does seem like a rather funny cowinkadink now that you point it out.. why indeed?" She pouted now her brows furrowed together in thought as she considered the possibilities and the mathematical possibility of it being simply that a cowinkadink.

"Now that I have you calm, go get a cup of coffee and I'll go get Martha for you if she's still awake." Thomas said with a smile. The look he had on his face said he wanted to reach through the screen to touch her cheek. To give her the comfort his touch could bring.

Yani felt herself smile. How did he do that? It was just one of the wonderful things about him that she loved. "Okay hun, Ill do that se you in a minuet." She got up and openning the door The Major had a cup of coffee that he handed to her and shoo'ed her back inside. She sat in the Majors chair sipping her coffee and waitting. Every sip was bliss warming her up from the inside.

A few minutes later, Thomas returns with a sleepy little girl with brown hair and brown eyes that looks to be about three years old. She was rubbing them when he sat down. "Look who it is sweetheart. It's Mommy." He points towards the screen to draw the little ones attention.

Yanis face brightend, it was as if ten years had just melted off her face as she beamed at the young toddler on the other side of the screen. "Oh hi there my little Meamea how are you doing?"

The toddler smiled and giggled her face buried into her father shoulder a moment as if to be coy and she waved a sweet, "Hiye moomie. Hi! Mooo meeei." her little curls bounced as she did a sleepy up in the air version of her happy dance. "DahDee ets Moomei, moomie on the commie. gose chirp chrip likea birrrrdie. chirp chrip dahdee!! Chrip." She ahd taken his face in her hands and was trying to make his lips pucker like a birds beak. Yani watched it and chuckled. It broke her heart as much as it warmed it. She should be there with them. What was she doing here??

"Yes, it goes chirp chirp." Thomas mumbled through pursed lips. He shook free a bit with a grin. "Wanna tell mommy what you did today?" He pointed at the comm screen again.

The toddler asked a look of sudden realization in her eyes, "Moomie can I has geeze booglooars? dahdee bites meameas geez oolglars he bite them all gone!"

"Oh did he now? How rude of you daddy. Eating a girls Cheeseburgers all gone. for shame." Yani tried not to smile but it was a lost fight. Just hearing her daughters voice set the world right again. what was she doing here? She wondered again. "Honey I... I was wondering.. How would you feel if I applied for an early discharge?" She asked she twirled the cup in her hands as she spoke. But she watched them, him mostly in that moment. She was admiring his sweet face.

"One bite. She was refusing to eat because she wanted you home. So I pretended to take a bite and of course it worked she ate it and the yummy fries daddy made for her." Thomas said with a laugh. "You know we would love to have you home but your so close as it is. If you need to reconnect again, tell the Major and I'll set it up with him." Martha had started squirming a bit but Thomas shifted her back up and tickled her a bit to get her to smile and giggle. "Ok sweetheart, tell mommy good night. It's time for you to go back to bed."

Martha's giggles stopped and her face scrunched up. "Noooo..moomie time!" The toddler squealed in protest. Thomas shook his head and smiled.

"I'll try to contact you in a day or two to check in on you and give you more time with Martha." Thomas said as he lifted the squirming child back into his lap. Martha dead weights and arches her back backwards to try and escape her father's grasp. She almost succeeded as she lid almost to the floor, her toes just touching before up she went again. "I love you my dearest and so does our daughter." He flashed another smile and blew her a kiss. Martha stopped long enough to blow an exaggerated kiss to Yani before , with a twist and wiggle, she was free and running out of sight with a giggle.

Yani already felt the anxiety building. Her chest tightened. was it time for good bye again already?? A day or so, it might as well be a million years. She swallowed the sob. forced herself to smile. "You better go and take care of that then. Ill talk to you then."

"You too and I love you so much." Thomas said with a grin and another blown kiss. From the background of the apartment there was a crash. The image rolled his eyes and chuckled. "Next time, you get to take her and I get the break!" He called to her as he stood up. "Talk soon and cheer up. We're fine here and your surrounded by friends old and new. Go meet them and get to know them." He winked at her.

She had met a few. T'Val and some of the other engineers. She blew him a kiss back.

The sound of another loud crash followed by a "Noooo! bed time!! Noo non noo.." It was almost like a little song. She was jumping on her bed from the sounds of it.

Yani was laughing now. "Wow she really does have my temper. You better go... But if you do need a break I could take her for a while. I don't think I will be getting deployed anytime soon after this mess." Yani said with a sigh. Then...

Another crash and a teddy bear flew in the back ground with a loud childish "Raaaarw!!' followed by Martha her arms pulled up like a t-rex came stomping after it. "Ima Gorn Rawwwr! I eat you mister bear!" She said trying to sound ferocious and failing miserably.

"Go save the bear from the Gorn. I love you. Good luck with bed time." Yani said with a soft chuckle.

"And you with your friends. Tell everyone I send my best." Thomas said as he spun around to raise his arms and playfully stomp after the three year old who shrieked and ran giggling just as the feed cut to a black screen.

Yani sat there her hands still clasped around the now cold cup of coffee. The Major was simply there beside her. They stayed silent both of them. It was Del who broke the silence first.

"Yani I need you here. What can I do to help you?" He said his voice tainted with guilt.

"I just want it to be over. I want my baby, and my husband. I thought I could handle being on separate assignments but I cant. I need to be there and be with them. Does that make me disloyal? are you disappointed in me Major?" She asked hoping it wasn't too personal a question.

"Yanna Blake, I could never be disappointed in you. You miss your family. Its been what two years now? Cant be easy watching your daughter grow up through a screen." Del sighed. "So I guess there is just no way around it. We will just have to bring Thomas and Martha here."

Yani shot him a look of astonishment. "But how?"

"No worries I will think of a way. In the mean time I will put in for you a family barracks and you will be on half rotations in the duty schedule. Ill get Kai on top of it for me." Del said his mind going into planning mode. "I am dismissing you for the rest of the day. Go and get some sleep Ill have everything squared away when you wake up alright."

There was a moment where she hesitated to believe him.. But she could see in his eyes, he was dead serious. "You need me here that badly?" She asked still in disbelief. '

"I really do. Now go on that's an order at least eight hours of sleep after you see Cassi." Del said his tone was fatherly, warm even.

"Thank you Major." Yani said taking her cup she put it in the disposal on the way out. Kai held the door for Yani. She gave Yani a hug and then left with her to go the the Medical bay.

Del watched the door close and let out a deep breath. He would let Thomas get the monster to bed and then he and the man where going to have a talk as well. Something needed to be done. So Del was going to get it done. Somehow.
