Mission: Jeepers Creepers 2: Creepers In Flight
Location: Deep Space Three Quarantined Docking Bay
Timeline: Current

"Lieutenant Maxx are you reading any life forms yet."

Lieutenant Maxx looked at his data pad on his forearm to monitor the power levels and any signatures that would stand out such as energy signatures, life form readings or fluctuations. "Just the ones in the pods. I am not seeing anything else at the moment", replied Lieutenant Maxx.

The power flowed steadily now and there was very little variance or feedback.

"Lieutenant Edgeware, we can get into the ship from this access hatch. Power is now being steadily fed into the ship. This part of the space walk is successful. What would you like to do now." Jo asked.

Steven considered for a second.

"Although it would be a prudent to check the cryogenic chambers. It worries me we cannot detect any life forms. Even in their sleeping state something should register. So we really need to get into the main part of the vessel. However. We need to be cautious who knows what’s floating around in there. My medical Tricorder is a little more powerful. It’s not picking up anything either." Steven explained

Lieutenant Maxx then tapped on his forearm data pad with a stencil since his gloves got in the way. Then he spoke up, "Mr. Edgeware I am patching you into my drone that is still onboard so you can boost your medical Tricorder readings and range. Let me know if you get any odd readings so I can fix the buffering." Then Lieutenant Maxx repositioned his drone to a better position on the ship for a cleaner signal. He was concerned that something bad led the ship to become a derelict and that something might still be onboard the ship. He was not taking any chances on contamination.

As if by magic readings started to come through.

" I am getting readings now. Curious we could not pick up any readings out here. This must be either a pirate or smugglers ship. Only they would have shielding as heavy as this." Thoughts of Harmony Bay started to come to mind. He closed them off by concentrating on the task he had been given.

"I am picking up just the three cryogenic pods. The fourth is definitely dead but I can't get any readings from the corpse inside. Power is very low almost undetectable. Still don't know what inside the face plates are to frosted up inside. As yet everything seems to be as we scanned it on Deep Space Three." Steven informed them.

"Do you want us to go in ourselves"? Jo asked.

Steven was beginning to rethink what he had just said. Caution was the key word here. Not blindly charging in no matter what.

Maxx raised an eyebrow at Steven as he suggested they go in right now. He was not to keen on the idea of going into the derelict when they had so little information on why the crew was in the state they were in. There were three possible survivors and one possible dead crewman and this made Maxx uncomfortable. He was really hoping that he was over thinking it, but his gut kept telling him something did not fit right.

He remembered a memory form one of his older incarnations. It was about the hole at the center of this doughnut reference in a drunken fiasco. And yes, his at first glance the drunken mess fit the fill that hole in the story perfectly. A doughnut hole in the doughnut's hole, but as he took a look a little closer. And when he did, he saw that the doughnut hole has a hole in its center which was odd. In fact it is not a doughnut hole at all but a smaller doughnut with its own hole, and our doughnut is not whole at all. In the end it was not a simple story, but one that involved a third drunken party that made a mess of things. It was a rather sticky situation which did not bode well for the prior host.

Oddly enough that same strange feeling kept nagging Maxx about the bodies on the ship. With everything so unstable on the ship, why was no one awake to deal with emergencies? It would be a desperate act of survival to risk one's life on these makeshift cryopods. Sadly he had no real choice but to work with what he had and follow his orders to the best of his ability.

"Doc, can you tell what race they are?" Jo asked.

Steven looked at Maxx and shook his head.

“ Shielding to heavy…..humanoid definitely judging by look of the cryogenic units. But nothing more then we have already. What do you think?” He asked

Maxx checked his scanners as well and saw some odd anomalies. Maxx replied, "Gimmie a minute. I may be able to find something." Then Maxx ran his nimble finger across his data pad as his mind was quickly interpreting the data at a fast rate. His past life experiences as a Joined Trill gave him a lot of experience and skills he would normally not have compared to other crew mates. After several scans of the shielding through his drone, Maxx saw the energy wave patterns coming from the shielding and the power supply. He replied, "It looks like the interference you guys are getting is caused by the energy fluctuations from the shielding and unstable power supply at the same time. I'm going to try something to get a better picture."

Then Maxx altered the position of the drone to face the cryo pods and it began to flash a series of lights at the pods however it seemed slow as he was working.

He spoke up, "The electromagnetic waves differ from mechanical waves in that they do not require a medium to propagate. This means that electromagnetic waves can travel not only through air and solid materials, but also through the vacuum of space. Since radio waves are a form of light, the downside is that it takes longer to get a proper scan this way, but I am getting some data now." Maxx didn't share his data with the others yet since it would only slow the process down to gather the data. A few minutes passed by as Maxx was tapping keys non stop to build a twelve inch tall 3D hologram of the bodies in the pods. Since it was time consuming, Maxx had little to show for the next fifteen minutes as the 3D image was gaining more details.
